Northwest Hospital Gamma Knife Center
The Northwest Hospital
Gamma Knife Center first opened its doors in 1993 and since that time has treated more than 3300 patients. The Gamma Knife® is a stereotactic radiosurgery device that allows neurosurgeons to perform non-invasive brain surgery. This type of treatment is used for conditions such as brain tumors (primary and metastases) and arteriovenous malformations, or AVMs. The Center is also one of the world leaders in using the Gamma Knife® to treat functional disorders such as tremor and trigeminal neuralgia.
